Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is proud to announce Ayden Shaw's promotion to General Manager and follows a review of DSA’s business operations.

Ayden will oversee all aspects of Disability Sports Australia’s operations and work with DSA’s Board of Directors to advance its vision of active lives for all Australians with disability.

Ayden has significant experience in the disability sport and recreation sector, most recently with Disability Sport & Recreation and as a non-executive Director with VicSport.

This appointment comes ahead of the release of DSA's new strategic plan which will guide the organisation through to 2026.

The plan outlines the organisation’s vision, mission, revised values and strategic objectives through five pillars: advocacy, financial stability, programs and delivery, partnerships and stakeholder engagements, and people culture and systems.

“I am grateful and humbled to be promoted to General Manager of Disability Sports Australia," Ayden shared. "There is a wonderful opportunity to encourage more Australians with disability to be involved in sport and active recreation.”

“I am excited to lead the organisation into a new strategic cycle that will build on our strengths, enhance our culture, and optimise our programs to have a meaningful impact on the community”.

Dr Phil Hamdorf, Chair of the DSA Board commented that “the DSA Board is delighted to welcome Ayden into the role and looks forward to growth of the organisation under his leadership”.

Dr Phil Hamdorf will cease his role as Executive Chair of the organisation to resume his position as Chair of the DSA Board.
