DSA to Host 2020 CPISRA Conference on Physical Activity and Health for People with Cerebral Palsy or Acquired Brain Injury

Disability Sports Australia, CPISRA and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation take great pleasure in announcing the inaugural CPISRA Conference on Physical Activity and Health for People with Cerebral Palsy or Acquired Brain Injury. This unique and exciting conference will take place at the University of Sydney from the 4th to the 6th December 2020.

“DSA is thrilled to host this inaugural conference and to work with our partners, CPA, CPSARA and the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health from the University of Sydney to bring this innovate conference to Sydney next year. There is huge importance in bringing together clinical, research and sport communities in the field and at the same time promoting the benefits of sport for people with a physical disability" said DSA CEO, Jenni Cole.

The 2020 CPISRA Conference aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practical application and promote the benefits of sport and active recreation for people with cerebral palsy and acquired brain injury. Combining expert talks with practical workshops, academics, healthcare professionals, sport experts and families and individuals will come together to share and exchange knowledge and understanding in this growing and ever-changing field.

CPISRA President Peter Drysdale said: “CPISRA is delighted that our new inter-disciplinary research conference will be launched in Australia and hosted by Disability Sport Australia and University of Sydney. Australia is a world leader in physical activity and sport related research for people with Cerebral Palsy and Acquired Brain Injury and we look forward immensely to the international knowledge exchange and collaboration opportunities this inaugural conference will provide.”
