Get Involved

Get Active

Engaging in sport and physical activity offers significant benefit to people with disability.

GET ACTIve

At Disability Sports Australia our mission is to ensure that everyone can participate in sport in a way that is meaningful to them.

Whether you’re starting this journey yourself or helping someone you care about, we provide the information and connections you need to get going.

No matter how active you are right now, there are options that will work for you.

This page is designed to give you useful information and links to both mainstream and disability-specific organisations, so you can find sports and activities that fit your needs and interests.

The Get Active page connects you to organisations—not specific programs—so you can find the most current and relevant opportunities.

Explore your Disability Specific Pathway

In Australia, there are many ways for people with disability to get involved in sport. We know some people have more than one disability, so this section is here to make things easier to understand.

We will help connect you to the National Sports Organisations for People with Disability. Whether you are visually impaired and want to play sport in your local area or hope to compete at the Paralympics, there is a pathway made just for you.

Find a sport for you

Besides the disability-specific sport pathways mentioned above, it’s important that people with disability can choose between disability-specific and mainstream sports.

To help you find the right fit, we will direct you to the National Sport Organisation’s website and page that best suits your needs as a person with disability.

If any page is out of date, please let us know.
