Building Inclusive Sport Clubs Course

The Building Inclusive Sport Clubs course gives practical tools and guidance to help clubs create welcoming, acessible environments.

Participation doesnt happen by chance. It starts with clubs that are ready.

Every person with disability should be able to ccess safe, welcoming and accessible sporting environments.

Every body has a safe place in sport

The Principles behind the Vision

The course is grounded in the principle:

“Nothing about us without us.”

A circular diagram showing three steps for inclusion: Start with Universal Design — planning so everyone can take part. Inclusion Is Everyone’s Business — it’s a shared responsibility. Co-Design With Community — working with people who have lived experience.

Our Approach

Many clubs want to include people with disability, but arent sure where to start.

Developed by Victoria University and the Australian Sports Commission, these modules provide practical, co-designed guidance to help clubs to take their first steps.

These modules were co-designed with women who have lived experience of disability. They make sure the voices of people with disability are always heard.

By completing this course, your club will:

  • Become welcoming and accessible
  • Support people with disability as participants, employees and volunteers.
  • Understand the role of advocacy and rights in sport.

Clubs often hold back because they worry about saying or doing the wrong thing.
