Blacktown Disability Sports Centre
Opening in 2025, the Blacktown Disability Sports Centre of Excellence will be the first purpose-built indoor training facility in Australia designed specifically for disability sport.

Located at the Blacktown International Sports Park in Rooty Hill, the centre is a partnership between Blacktown City Council and Disability Sports Australia, proudly funded by the NSW Government
Designed for Inclusion. Built for Performance
Accessibility is central to all aspects of the Centre’s design.
Developed by Lahznimmo Architects, the venue reflects universal design best practices- not as an add on, but as a foundation.
Features include:
- Wide circulation areas and intuitive wayfinding.
- Accessible changerooms including changing places.
- Automatic doors in key areas for ease of movement.
- Accessible parking
- Quiet room

Two Courts. Unlimited Possibility
At the heart of the Centre are two large, multi-lined indoor courts, purpose-built to support a variety of disability sports, including:
- Sitting volleyball
- Goalball
- Badminton
- Wheelchair rugby
- Wheelchair basketball
- Boccia
Advocacy
Integrated with Health, Technology and Community Support
- The centre is located on the Blacktown International Sports Park, in close proximity to the Blacktown Exercise Sport and Technology Hub (BEST) offering:
- A modern strength and conditioning gym
- Aquatic recovery facilities
- Allied health services
- Accessible short-stay accomodation
Together, these features create an environment where athletes, coaches and community groups can thrive.

Construction is in its final stages, with the Centre expected to open by mid-2025.
Expressions of interest to access and use the Centre will open in Q2 2025.
