Scope Announced as Naming Rights Partner for Southside Abilities Adults Unleashed Event

Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is pleased to announce disability services provider Scope as the naming rights partner for its upcoming Southside Abilities Adults Unleashed Event.

This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to enhancing sports opportunities for people with disability, creating accessible and welcoming spaces for participation.

The Southside Abilities Unleashed Program, set for Wednesday, 30 April 2025 at RSEA Park (St Kilda Football Club), is designed to introduce adults with disability to a variety of sports and recreational activities, connecting participants with local clubs and ongoing sporting opportunities.

Studies show adults with disability participate in sport and physical activities less frequently than their non-disabled counterparts. Through this partnership, Scope and Disability Sports Australia aim to bridge that gap by offering more inclusive, tailored opportunities to be active.

Ayden Shaw, CEO of Disability Sports Australia, said:

“Partnering with Scope is a natural fit for us. This collaboration ensures that, as a sports organisation, we are actively engaging with the disability sector, where many individuals find a sense of belonging through their chosen activities.”

He continued:

“Together, we can provide a tailored, welcoming experience that empowers participants to engage in sports that align with their personal goals and aspirations.”

Hayley Maxwell, Senior Manager Acquisition at Scope, said:

“At Scope, we believe the joy of participation in sport is everyone’s right, from watching from the sidelines to being part of the action. We are proud to partner with Disability Sports Australia and share inclusive and accessible sporting opportunities with the disability community, helping people to belong and thrive, whatever their passion.”

The Southside Abilities Adults Unleashed event will include opportunities to engage in activities such as Inclusive Hockey and Balloon Football League (BFL) – a modified version of AFL pioneered by Scope clients to suit the needs of people with disability.

Scope and Disability Sports Australia are committed to building more inclusive sporting pathways, ensuring every person can participate in the way that suits them best.
