Disability Sports Australia works with councils across Australia to deliver professionally managed participation events that support disability inclusion, community connection and ongoing sport participation.

About the Council Partnership Program

The Abilities Unleashed Council Partnership Program is a partnership between Disability Sports Australia (DSA) and local governments to deliver inclusive, community-based sport and active recreation opportunities for people with disability.

DSA works with councils to deliver professionally managed Abilities Unleashed events that connect residents with disability to local sport clubs, providers and ongoing participation pathways. Delivery is tailored to each municipality and aligned to local facilities, community need and council priorities.

What is Abilities Unleashed

Abilities Unleashed is a fully facilitated, come-and-try sport and active recreation event for people with disability.

Each event provides a safe and welcoming environment for participants to:

What's Included in the Delivery Fee

The delivery fee covers end-to-end planning and delivery by Disability Sports Australia including:

  • Event planning, coordination and on the day delivery.
  • Inclusive activities delivered with qualified sport providers.
  • Registration management through centralised platform.
  • Marketing support and event collateral.
  • Volunteer recruitment, screening and coordination.
  • Venue planning in partnership with council.
  • Risk management, insurance and child safety requirements.

The Expression of Interest helps us understand your council’s priorities, preferred delivery options and local context. Submitting a form does not commit your council to delivery.
