The Process

1. Recruit & Train Facilitators

Women with disability were recruited and trained as facilitators, building leadership skills so they could guide clubs through the program.

2. Invite Clubs & Run Intro Workshops

Clubs expressed interest and joined an initial online workshop to learn about practical strategies and what the program involved.

3. Clubs Commit to Inclusion Projects

Clubs that wanted to continue committed to developing a program or initiative to improve access and inclusion for people with disability.

4. Mentor and Assess

Facilitators worked one-on-one with clubs for around eight months, supporting them to deliver their initiatives. Mentors also conducted formal check-ins and a practical assessment of progress.

5. Share and Learn Together

After the mentoring period, all clubs were invited into online Communities of Practice to exchange ideas, challenges, and successful approaches across the sector.

6. Reimagine Volunteering & Employment Forums

The program concluded with in-person forums that explored how clubs could create new and sustainable pathways for people with disability to volunteer and work in sport.
