Want to Volunteer?

We are grateful to have volunteers across Australia supporting our vision of lives and communities changed through the power of sport.

Our organisation depends on the generous time and skills volunteers contribute.

Throughout the year, we offer a range of opportunities designed to ensure everyone can participate and contribute in ways that suit them.

By volunteering with us, you will directly support our mission to build the capability of sport to enable more Australians with disability to engage in sport in the way they choose.

Most volunteer roles are available during business and school hours, Monday to Friday, providing flexibility to fit your lifestyle.

Our Volunteer Screening and Onboarding Process

At Disability Sports Australia (DSA), we are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our programs. To support this, all volunteers participate in a thorough screening and onboarding process managed through our official volunteer platform, Rosterfy.

When someone applies to volunteer with DSA, they complete their registration via Rosterfy, providing essential details about their background and areas of interest.

As part of this process, volunteers are required to complete mandatory compliance checks such as Working with Children Checks and National Police Checks, in line with legal and organisational requirements.

Once the necessary documentation is submitted, DSA carefully reviews and verifies each volunteer’s clearance to confirm they meet all safety and legal standards.

Only after this verification can volunteers begin their roles.

Before starting, volunteers also complete role-specific training and an induction program delivered through Rosterfy. This training ensures they are fully prepared to provide a safe, positive, and inclusive experience for participants, especially children and people with disability.

Throughout their volunteering journey, Rosterfy supports ongoing communication, scheduling, and feedback, helping us keep volunteers engaged, informed, and connected to the DSA community.

This structured process ensures that every volunteer is equipped, supported, and committed to upholding DSA’s values and delivering a safe and enjoyable sporting environment for all.

DSA acknowledges Rosterfy as our preferred volunteer management supplier

Rosterfy is a leading Volunteer Management Software platform used by mass participation sporting events, federations, and nonprofit organisations. Their intuitive platform helps organisations recruit, retain, reward, and train volunteers by automating day-to-day tasks, reducing administration, and creating more engaging experiences for volunteers.
