Ayden Shaw joins Disability Sports Australia team as General Manager

Disability Sports Australia is excited to announce the appointment of Ayden Shaw as the new General Manager- Programs and Partnerships commencing from July.

Shaw joins the organisation with significant experience of the disability sport and recreation sector, most recently as the Manager- Program and Events at Disability Sport & Recreation (DSR), Shaw also recently won the Vicsport GameDay Sports Administrator of the Year – Eunice Gill Award recognising his positive impact on the Victorian sports sector.

During his time at Disability Sport & Recreation Shaw was instrumental in developing the Robert Rose Foundation Victorian Wheelchair Football League, under his leadership DSR also transitioned the wheelchair rugby program to become Wheelchair Rugby Victoria.

Shaw also managed delivery of DSR’s community programs, major events and relationships with key organisational program and sector partners.

Part of Shaws role will also be to create a stronger intersectional focus across inclusion of people with disability in the work that Disability Sports Australia does in the community.

The General Manager- Programs and Partnerships will directly oversee existing aspects of the DSA strategic business plan including creating more choice, advocacy and education and driving increased capacity with existing State member organisations who are affiliated to DSA.

Disability Sports Australia CEO Murray Elbourn stated “As CEO of Disability Sports Australia, I’m thrilled to have Ayden Shaw join our senior management team today. Ayden adds significant experience in the disability sports sector and has many valued connections as someone who has built a high level of sector trust.

Shaw is looking forward to joining the Disability Sports Australia team and getting down to business.

 The role of General Manager- Programs and Partnerships will be part of the new senior leadership team reporting directly to the CEO.
